Maharashtra COVID-19 tally rises to 44,582 after highest daily spike of 2,940 cases

As India relaxes the lockdown measures imposed country-wide to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, India's number of COVID-19 positive cases too see a spike. On Friday, India reported as many as 1,18,447 COVID-19 cases which include 48,534 cured cases and 3,583 fatalities. At least 14 migrant workers sleeping on rail tracks were crushed to death by a goods train in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra on Friday morning, police said.
