Even during the pandemic situation across the country, their are some opportunist who are trying to take the advantage of this situation. And even the authorities without understanding the wasted interest of these people are supporting them blind folded ly.
One such incident was exposed by The Ahmedabad Buzz ,which happened at Vadodara. The official fb page of VMC -Vadodara Municipal Corporation posted a graphic with logo of VMC and Yadi Mart, which promised hygeinic vegetables at the doorsteps in selected areas of Vadodara.
The journalist of The Ahmedabad Buzz at once called up the owner Hitesh Thakkar and inquired how he would be providing and why did he choose to supply the vegetables.
To this Mr.Thakkar replied that he would get the vegetables from APMC market and his employees will do the home delivery of the same. Not only that he claimed that he got inspiration from the PMs speech.
When he was asked how he will execute hygienic process on vegetables he said he will wash it with water.
The yadi mart had no warehouse or washing infrastructure with them . He also had got a pass to move during lockdown from the collectorate.
The entire story described by the yadi authorities didn’t appeal us. And we started further investigation in this regard. We were shocked to find that the he runs a proprietary firm called Yadi accessories at gorwa -karodiya road. His main business was repairing the mobile phones and selling accessories, mostly that is MADE IN CHINA.
To this when asked to the municipal commissioner ,Mr. Nalin Upadhyay said ” One businessman Mr Hitesh Thakkar after inspiring speech of PM Sir contacted VMC for vegetable & fruit supply on breakeven point. So we guided him to give home delivery on a scientific ( hygienic way ) way only by e payment. So he agreed & startted service. We have designed his page with our social media team. And publish on our social media as what we have done in Shabjiwala.com & Viroc – Amaya case.”
While the authorities are claiming that he was guided to take e payment ,on the other side their are many questions like whether the vegetables and fruits are deliver through touch less technic , how the delivery executive will go and what precautions he will take to maintain self hygiene as well as hygiene of eatables. This entire episodes have so many questions which are not answered or cannot be answered ,but the VM C authorities are not able to cope up with the issue is for sure.
