Assam: Tea garden manager escape unhurt after his vehicle set on fire by miscreants in Tinsukia

Guwahati, Feb 21:   A tea garden manager escape unhurt after his vehicle was set on fire by indentified miscreants on Monday at section 31 Hansra division in Raidang tea estate in upper Assam Tinsukia district.

The garden manager has been identified as Jagdish Singh Phulera.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 4-5pm in the evening when the garden manager was on his regular inspection visit at Section 31 in Raidang tea estate of Hansara division.

Sources said the miscreants tried to kill the garden manager by setting the vehicle on fire.

Garden manager Jagdish Singh Phulera filed an FIR at Doomdooma police station.

The All Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association (ATTSA) condemned the incident and demanded for an inquiry.

“In the past, the garden manager has been attacked three times. Even filing FIRs multiple times, we are unable to understand why the administration is failing to take the incidents seriously and not taking any steps,” stated ATTSA leader.

The ATTSA alleged that the garden manager has been earlier attacked by unidentified miscreants on two accounts.

“Tea garden manager vehicle was set on fire some miscreants in Hansara division of Raidang tea estate. Nobody was injured in the incident. We have started our investigation into the matter,” a police officer said.
