Tripura polls: Amidst tight security Tripura polls begins at 7 am

Tripura: Amidst tight security casting of votes for the 60-member Tripura assembly polls begun on Thursday from 7 am with malfunction in some EVMs.

Among 259 candidates 28 are from All Indian Trinamool Congress, 55 from BJP, 13 from Congress, 6 from IPFT, Tipra Motha fielded 42 candidates, 43 from CPI (M), 1 each from CPI, CPI (M)L, AIFB, TSP, RSP, 7 from other unrecognized party and 58 others from Independent party.

People have comes out from their house to caste votes and most of the people are waiting in the queue to cast their vote in their respective polling stations.

Altogether, 3,337 polling stations set up across the state. A total of 28.13 lakh voters including 13.53 lakh women will decide the fate of the candidates.
