The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government has granted land rights to refugee families – a move which coincided with Union Home Minister and former BJP president Amit Shah’s arrival in the state for a two-day visit. According to reports, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee granted land rights to 25,000 refugee families and said a total of 1.25 lakh families would be given land rights.
