Cabinet approves Bill to include Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi as official languages in Jammu and Kashmir

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a bill under which Kashmiri, Dogri and Hindi, apart from the existing Urdu and English, will be the official languages in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press briefing, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill, 2020 will be introduced in Parliament in the upcoming Monsoon Session. Charu Sinha appointed IG CRPF in Srinagar, first female IPS officer to take charge in terrorist-hit sector

For the first time, a female IPS officer has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar sector, one of the terrorist-affected areas in Jammu and Kashmir.  Charu Sinha, IPS officer of the 1996-batch of Telangana cadre, will now be heading the Srinagar sector for CRPF as the Inspector General.  This is not the first time when she has been assigned such a tough task, earlier also, she had worked as IG, the Bihar sector in CRPF and has dealt with Naxals. …

Jawan martyred, 3 terrorists gunned down in encounter with security forces in Zadoora area of J&K’s Pulwama; arms, ammunition seized

Three unidentified terrorists were gunned down by security forces on Saturday (August 29) in a joint operation of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and CRPF Zadoora area in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. A soldier was also martyred in the operation. Pakistan may deploy Chinese UAVs at LoC to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir

Pakistan is planning to deploy medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) at Line of Control (LoC) to create further unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports. Security agencies sources said that Pakistan is procuring Cai Hong-4 (CH-4) UAV from China in big numbers in order to unleash mayhem in Kashmir valley.
