Assam: 5-day long Exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav concludes at Guwahati

Guwahati: The five day long Photo Exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting comes to a close at Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) playground in Chandmari, Guwahati  on Sunday.

 Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal graced the closing event.

In his closing remark Sarbananda Sonowal said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a great initiative by the Government to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.

 Sonowal also appreciated the initiative taken by CBC Guwahati for mounting Exhibitions on unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle . He asserted that this Amrit Mahotsav will be a memorable initiative as India is marching towards its centenary celebration of Independence.

He urged everyone to work hard with dedication, devotion and commitment in order to achieve the aim of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Addressing the students at the closing ceremony Shri Sonowal talked about the upcoming Pariksha Pe Charcha.

He further said that this noble initiative by the Prime Minister is to help the students to deal with exam fear.

He also urged the students to read the “Exam Warriors” book written by our Prime Minister.

While addressing the gathering Director General, North East Zone, Ministry of I&B  B. Narayanan (IIS) said that CBC Guwahati, through this exhibition aims to highlight the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle and it will shed light on the lives of the Freedom Fighters from the Northeastern part of the country.

 Hitesh Tahbildar, Principal Assam Engineering Institute., Pavni Gupta, Deputy Director, PIB Guwahati were also present in the closing ceremony. The photo exhibition was inaugurated by  Governor of Assam, Prof Jagdish Mukhi on 18th January 2023.  

The exhibition portrayed the sacrifice of the brave freedom fighters of the Northeast and their contribution to the freedom movement of the Nation.

During the five days cultural programmes – folk songs and folk dances depicting the culture and tradition of Assam and the other parts of the Northeast were presented by the artists of CBC Guwahati. Apart from this prizes were also distributed to the winners of dance, painting, quiz competition organised during the five day event.
