Assam: Bharat ‘Jodo Yatra’ reaches Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI, DEC 12: The Assam Congress’ Bharat ‘Jodo Yatra’ reached the ‘tea city’ Dibrugarh on Monday.

More than 500 people joined in the yatra with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) president Bhupen Kumar Borah. Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi, Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, opposition leader Debabrat Saikia and other top Congress leader participate in the padyatra.

The Bharat ‘Jodo Yatra’ in Dibrugarh was started from Mancotta filed and ended at Railway filed. The rally passes from the streets of Dibrugarh town.

Talking to media persons, Bhupen Kumar Borah said, “We are getting good support in Bharat ‘Jodo Yatra’ in all over Assam. Today, the Yatra reached historic Dibrugarh where we have received good support from the people. Our main aim is to reunit the people of Assam with our party’s ideology.  Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Bharat ‘Jodo Yatra’ get good response among the people.”

Criticizing BJP, Borah said, “The BJP have failed in their ‘Vision Document’. They have promised to hike wages of tea garden workers and promised to provide ST status to the six ethnic groups of Assam and told to solve the flood problem etc. But till date they have failed in their promises made in the ‘Vision Document’. The BJP is a party of fake promises. Now, the people have understand everything and showing support to us.”
