Assam: Dibrugarh University introduces Korean language course

GUWAHATI, FEB 20: Dibrugarh University in collaboration with the World Fragrant Cooperation (WFC), Sejong, Republic of Korea, and in association with the Borahi Foundation, Assam, has introduced a ‘One Year Certificate Course’ in Korean Language.

The inaugural ceremony of the event was held at the conference hall of the Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET)bon Monday which was attended by Prof Heescon Park, visiting professor of Korean Language at Dibrugarh University from WFC Sejong, Prof Ki Suk Lee, Dibrugarh University vice chancellor Jiten Hazarika, Surajit Borkotokey, director, Office of the International Affairs, Dibrugarh University,
Paramananda Sonowal, registrar, Dibrugarh University, Arpana Konwar, chairperson, Centre for Studies in Language, Dibrugarh University, Pratul Kumar Bora, managing trustee of Borahi Foundation, Assam among others.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 in any stream or students pursuing any academic programme in Dibrugarh University will be eligible to apply for the course that will consist of two semesters.

Classes will be held two hours a day and ten hours a week while the total fees have been fixed at Rs 10,000, including Rs 5,000 admission fees and Rs 5,000 course fees, the university authorities said.

Dibrugarh University vice chancellor Jiten Hazarika said, “The new Korean language course will create a new revolution in the history of Dibrugarh University. If the students can enrolled in this one year course they can easily get job in the sector where Korean language is necessary. We are very happy to introduce the course in Dibrugarh University,”.
