Assam: Retired police officer shot dead by Sub-Inspector of Dibrugarh police station

GUWAHATI, JAN 6: Former police officer was shot dead by a sub-Inspector of Dibrugarh police station in Assam’s Dhemaji district on Saturday.

According to reports,  Alok Konwar, working as a Sub- Inspector at Dibrugarh Police Station has killed retired Police officer, Amulya Barua with his service pistol.

After killing the retired police officer, Alok Konwar surrendered at Dhemaji police station.

As per information, Alok Konwar left Dibrugarh this morning after emergency night duty, reached Dhemaji and fired three rounds at Amulya Barua, who was a retired police officer from Arunachal Pradesh.

Police suspects that the incident might have taken place due to their personal disputes.

“Alok Kumar has already surrender before police after committing the crime. We have launched investigation into the case,” said a police official.

In a similar incident, a police constable was shot dead on December 6 in Assam’s Charaideo district by his colleague.

According to reports, constable Deepak Kakoti killed his college Gokul Basumatary after fired bullet on him.
