Guwahati, Feb 15: Police arrested two persons in connection with a firing incident in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Kaushik Gogoi and Munin Gogoi.

The incident took place at Dibrugarh by-pass near Zaikha Dhaba under Barbaruah police station on Tuesday night. Two rounds of blank firing said to be done from a bolero vehicle last night at around 10:45pm.

“Four people came to our Dhaba last night. Among four, one of them has been behaving roughly with our waiters. We have served them food in the cabin. They are willing to do card payment. But we don’t have the facility. We told them to give the payment through G-pay but they told that they will give payment only through card payment. They also didn’t want to pay,” said one of the waiter of Zaikha Dhaba.

“I’ve served food to them and at first I clear them that we don’t have card payment option. At last one of them give the payment. After steeping out from the Dhaba they used slang words and give threatening to our staffs. After going at a distance they pelted stones at our Dhaba and after reaching near their vehicle they fired two rounds of gun shot,” he said.

“No person was injured in the incident. We have started our investigation to ascertain the incident. We have arrested two persons in conection with the incident,” said a police official.
