Guwahati: A motivational program under the aegis of the forum Youth4Nation was held at DHSK College in Dibrugarh on Tuesday.
Addressing the students of the college the Chief national Coordinator of Youth4Nation Lt Gen VK Chaturvedi (Retd) said that 65 percent of India’s population is below 35 years of age and this will give demographic dividend at least for the next few decades which the Prime Minister of India refer to as Amrit Kal. He said that as students they should keep three things in mind. Firstly, they need to study and do their duties sincerely, secondly, students should remain attached to their culture and origin and thirdly they should stand by those who are serving our mother land.
Lt Gen Chaturvedi was accompanied by Lt Col Manoj Sinha (Retd), National Coordinator of Youth4Nation Col Lalit Borah (Retd), Ramana TSV from CodeTantra, Arvind Tripathi, Mentor & Entrepreneur and General secretary Youth4Nation and Dr David Kardong, Professor, Department of Life Sciences, Dibrugarh University.
Earlier the Principal of DHSK College Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia in his welcome speech said that the institution is committed for holistic development of the students because as future leaders of the country they have big stakes and have a great role to play in transforming the country as a leader of the world community.
Col Lalit Borah (Retd) introduced the dignitaries to the audience and spelt out the aim of the Forum.
He said that Youth4Nation is a group of senior veterans, IAS, IPS, entrepreneurs and senior academicians spread across the nation.
The aim of the Forum is to reach out to the youth, particularly of the college and university level and share their experiences with regard to securing India of their dream in general and its emerging security challenges in particular.
The program started by paying tribute to Late Lt Gen (Dr) N S Malik who was the founder mentor of Youth4Nation.
The Vice-Principal of DHSK College Dr. P D Goswami, Students Relation Coordinator Dr. JP Phukan besides other faculty members and hundreds of students were present in the meeting.
Dr. Bhaskar Das Coordinator of the Information and Career Guidance Cell of the College acted as the moderator.
