The viral video received mixed reactions from netizens. Taking a jibe at the government, a user said, “The government is also looting, brother! The flight fare from Mumbai to Prayagraj, which is usually around Rs 5,000, has now been increased to Rs 56,000.”
“Airlines and trains do whatever they want in the name of dynamic pricing. Is arbitrary, body-based punishment on an individual justified? Since when have we been taught that one human inflicting suffering on another is justified?” lamented another user.
A user lauded the police action against the biker, while another user criticized the police brutality against the bike-taxi driver.
The video emerged on social media amid UP Police’s ongoing drive against illegal bike taxi drivers who are overcharging devotees following multiple complaints. According to police, several vehicles were seized and challans were issued against many on Sunday and Monday.
