MP Updates: Man Attacks Nephew With Axe & Stick Over Family Dispute; Girl’s Body Found In Suspected Suicide

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A man attacked his nephew with an axe and a stick in Puroshottampur village under Singhpur police station in Satna district on Wednesday. According to reports, when the youth Rambhadra Tiwari raised some objections to his cousin, Lakshmi Tiwari’s activities, his uncle Dayaram Tiwari and Lakshmi attacked him. The man, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, was rushed to the Satna district hospital. When the incident occurred, Rambhadra was returning after dropping his son at a coaching centre.

Rambhadra, who lives in Mumbai, said his cousin came to his residence in Mumbai a few days ago. Because Lakshmi had stolen seven mobile phones, Rambhadra told him to leave his residence. Both Dayaram and Lakshmi wanted to take revenge against Rambhadra who came to his native village, Puroshottampur, a few days ago. Both his uncle and cousin attacked Rambhadra who lodged a complaint at the police station.

Girl’s body found, suicide suspected

A body of a 20-year-old girl was found in thick bushes near a school in Lalpur village in Amarpatan area on Thursday. When the residents of the area found the body in the morning, they informed the police. A police team arrived at the spot and began to probe the case. The police said the girl, whose body was found was identified as Riti Devi Manjhi, resident of Tyonthar, Rewa district.

Town inspector KP Tripathi said the father of the girl had told him over phone that Riti was suffering from some disease and mentally upset. She, together with her sister, had gone to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa for treatment and disappeared from there, her father said. According to the police, her family members handed over a suicide note written by the girl.
